    Default 2010 RTS 12k miles in NEBRASKA

    I am posting for a fellow that I spoke with on FB. He lives close to me . He bought the bike from the original owner (his brother) 3 years ago and has put on 2k miles since then. It has original tires and is a SE5. Battery has always been on a tender. No obvious modifications . Recent oil change by son in law. Seller has not changed tires or battery or done any brake or other work since he has owned it. I told him I'd post this link as I think $8200 is a good price for the bike.

    - Absolutely correct!!

    • Any RT prior to 2014 will have the V-twin 998 cc motor;
    • Any GS/RS/RSS/ST will have the V-twin motor;
    • Any Spyder with an SE5 or an SM5 transmission will have the V-twin motor;

    and on the other end of the scale

    • Any RT 2014 or newer will have the 1330 Triple motor;
    • Any F3 will have the 1330 Triple motor;
    • Any Spyder with an SE6 or SM6 transmission will have the 1330 Triple motor

    So in a nutshell...

    - all the peppier, sportier, revvier, & 'exiting to ryde' Spyders have the V-twin motors that will use a little oil & probably a bit more gas

    - while all the newer but rattlier & lazier Spyders have the torquier & a little more economical 1330 Triple motors...

    Methinks we have a pro 998 advocate on board.

    I have had four to date. Now I drive the 1330.

    Dammit, I thought it wouldn't show!

    But yeah!

    I hafta admit, there are times that I enjoy ryding a 1330 too, and they're 'nice enough' to ryde in a laid back non-sporty kinda way, if that's your style; they certainly tow well, but even the sportiest of F3's just doesn't get the heart pumping & adrenalin flowing like any/all of the V-twins can/do; I reckon it's cos the twins are revvier, lighter, easier to throw around, dive into corners harder, blast out sooner - what's not to like more!
