Thanks for the welcome, I have been a 2 wheeler rider since the mid 1960's. But I no longer felt comfortable trying to ride the Honda VTX 1300 with the wife on the back. So thanks to my wife she chipped in to help buy the Spyder and we love it so far. I will admit it's a learning curve, I guess for one I was shifting the Transmission wrong, backing off the throttle when upshifting, so hope I did not damage it. But I've only ridden it 2 days. I've read where the stock tires are crap, so I ordered a Kumho ECSTA AST 225-50/R15 for back, now to figure what size and brand for the front. even though the tires look new (9 years old). Read were it handles better with better tires. There sure is enough (watch before you buy/don't by videos on you-tube) but did not waste my time, because I wanted one and did not need to have doubts in my mind

One problem, though minor. trying to find after market for a discontinued model is frustrating, which I knew owning a 2007 vtx 1300. Anyway trying to find a good beverage holder that will fit, every one has them for the RT, etc. etc.

The ST's were a cross between the RT's & the GS/RS models - the front end & steering etc is mainly RT or very similar; the footpegs on back are mainly GS/RS or similar!
So if they're still being sold, just about everything can be found - you just hafta work out if it's gonna be the RT version you'll need, or the GS/RS version that'll fit!
IIRC, for beverage holders, you'll need to go with one of the RT units, but it has been a while, so...

Thanks every one for the welcomes and info, and Thanks Peter for the post about the model differences, should be able to figure it out. Having road 2 wheelers for decades, it is a learning curve getting used to a 3 wheeler. It will take time especially going a fair speed around corners, the way the machine leans gives me the feeling of running off the road And the steering feels to touchy hard to not wonder around, Hey I'm to old to wander around anymore. I going to replace the tires it still has the China tires on it. Hope that helps it's handling.
I see where upgrading the stock front shocks, makes a world of difference in the ride. But the cost So I guess I will just have to put up with the diving and darting on crapy roads, which we have a lot of around here.
don't know if seller told you it was laser aligned? But if you don't think it was, goto a dealer with the ROLO system. Also bad Kenda tires play into some darting as well tire pressures. If your dealer will mount car tires, they stick much better, are made to balance better. You can also get the Centeramic wheel balancers from LaMonster. I have the kit for all 3 wheels
....Welcome to the Spyder Forum. I hope you have a great Ryde Time with your new to you Spyder. Read and learn about your Spyder. The learning curve is usually around 1,000 miles or so.
Ryde when you can and always be careful of the 'cagers', most of the time they can not see a Spyder. Been there and didn't like it. Cell Phones are a very Real problem and continues to cause accidents.

Thanks for the reply, Yes I see where the more you ride will help. But I need more practice. for sure and cell phones are being used all the time where I live, so much for enforcing the laws
Congrats on your new ride. I have the 2013 St Limited. Bought it used in 2015
with 6000 miles. Now just over 78,000. Would have had more but Covid
caused a big riding problem. Now just getting back into trips again.
You may experience clutch chatter when first starting on a ride. It goes away
after the engine gets warm. A while ago I started getting my oil change kits from Lamonster and that fixed the problem.
The only other problem I had was the disintegration of the drive pulley. It happened
twice. It would be interesting to see if the replacement pulleys now used by BRP
are of a better grade of material. If so I would suggest changing it now because
it is a very simple change at home. Big problem on the road.
You may want to see if the recall kit for a heating problem was installed.
The great helpers on this forum can also help you with that.
Ride safe, Have fun.
Don
Thanks for the heads up, I have done the evap bypass, and the breather mode to keep oil out of air filter. Installed performance wires/platinum plugs. Performance sway bar and links from BajaRon. I have a full set of shocks coming from M2. It does not have the recall kit for over heating, did not seem to find it offered anywhere, now days. Will check into the Drive pulley issue.
