Default Drive Belt Vibration Dampener showing signs of Wear!

Just showing the Drive Belt Vibration Dampener does indeed wear and should be checked regularly. 2 years, 11,000 miles Tapered wear even though it was parallel with belt. Top roller is the old one LaMonster Part.

IMHO the un-even wear is typical of very long belt that is Loose ..... However your belt needs to be somewhat Loose because if it wasn't Bearings, Sprocket teeth etc, would wear too fast ( BRP discovered this fact after crating the Spyders ) ..... good luck, Mike ................. PS IMHO this device was created to cure a SLIGHT annoyance, and things do have consequences sometimes ....

I have been reading a lot of Info on this site, and taking notes to put in my Manual, but it seems there's more than one answer to the 'How Tight should the drive belt be?' question... and how to really know what to use and how to know how tight or loose mine is at any time. I have some numbers written down, and have been looking for the little Krickit tool. I guess I'll have to buy one online.

Yes buy a Krickit online, or I think thru LaMonster. Best to check tension with your rear wheel on the ground, mine is 160/165 on the guage. I only had vibes once in a while, mostly starting with a bump in road that triggers it - and cancels it too. I can deal with very few vibes, not to put anything on the belt that might wear and destroy it. Can't remember what my tension reading was, but I successfully loosened the axle bolts evenly to keep the belt tracking correctly.

    Question Belt wear?

1270 -- you didn't mention whose dampener you had.

The failure mode is usually the interior bearing not the exterior roller. I don't see a problem unless the belt was wearing too.
