Default After nine years I finally got a New helmet!

After nine years I finally replaced my helmet! I know, I should have done it years ago but just kept putting it off. It was a Shoei Neotec and was a great helmet. I replaced it with the Neotec II and it is an even better helmet than the original. It fits better, is more aerodynamic, and is much quieter. I used to ride with ear plugs but now the II is so quiet that I don't need them. I did not go with the SENA headset that can be integrated. I still have a SENA 20S Evo that works great and the salesman at Cycle Gear installed it in the new helmet at no charge. Someone here recently asked if there is ever a discount on Shoei helmets. I doubt it because I paid $750 plus tax. I am sure a lot of riders would not want to pay that kind of money for a helmet but Shoei, Arai, and Shuberth are rated some of the most expensive but also some of the best. I know that some helmet brands fit better if you have an oval head and some fit better if you have a round head, so the Shoei might not be the best fit for everybody. By the way I am not being compensated by Shoei or Cycle Gear. I just wanted to let everyone know what a great helmet it is IMHO.

Shoei is one of the few brands that fit me properly and is all day comfortable right out of the box. That alone is worth the price to me.

For me, the Neotec II is an order of magnitude more comfortable and quieter than the Neotec.

I won't/can't buy any other helmet!! Shoei is LIFE!

Here is what I have been running... I LOVE it. So much so I bought a "spare" before they stopped making them...
