They're running them because they are mostly the ones who are still there!
At a Lions convention a few years getting younger folks involved was a hot topic of discussion. The presenter said the quickest way to turn off a younger person from joining was to invite them to a lunch meeting. Now, if you invite them to come help plant trees in the park, they'll come. They like to be involved in ad hoc community projects but not in organized continuing gatherings. He also said young folks are some of the most generous financial donators for community projects. Just don't expect them to come to a meeting to hear how their money helps the community. It's a confusing conflicted set of values we're dealing with.

Let's face it, almost all organizations including our Gov is run by old folk. I am old but have always agreed that you have to have some young mixed in to make it worth while. I don't like organized stuff because it is too organized.

Off topic but that is where BRP development is headed with the Ryker. Like it or not this is Can-Am's fastest growing segment and is drawing in the younger folks. I say good for the Ryker. Good for the young folks.
