If replaced fairly recently it would be white. If not, then it's an older sprocket.

Here is an interesting data point for the group.

My 2015 original engine failed at 32k miles and was replaced with a May 2019 production date engine (2019 model year). Yet my bike is still included in the recall to get the new sprocket when it becomes available.
The current engine now has 40k miles on it.

I have 58,000 miles on my 2015 RT. No red Dust. I'm not sure I will trust the dealer to do the repair, not once but twice?

Most likely not changed out. So far, I have not heard of a single RT that has had this problem.

Have had several in my shop. Far more F3 to be sure but it happens on RT as well.

2015 F3S 25k miles left my wife dead in the water just 100 miles after we purchased it. Since it was a new to us didn't even know if any warnings/sounds were occurring. Dealer fixed for free, white sprocket in now last fall.
It happened before I joined this site and the reason I joined this site and learned about the red dust. And yes, there was plenty to clean up after dealer repaired it.

I've got 16k on my 2015 RT-S Special Series. I'll go out to shop and pull the Tupperware and check for Red Dust of Evil, next time the temperatures get below 80 degrees, might hafta do it at nighttime. According to my heart doctor I'm grounded until then. But hey, there's always NIGHT RIDES. I wonder how those twisties over in Arkansas are at night. Might hafta get one or three of those deer whistles.

    Hi,

My 2019 RT LTD had 62500km, when I took it for the recall. As you can see on the first picture the red dust its looks to be a lot. BRP has confirmed and changed the sprocket as they said it was not within specs with a temp white sprocket (pic 2)only until the recall parts are available. On (pic 2) look to the right of the sprocket and resting on top of the drive belt you will see that I have added a belt idler pulley to keep the drive belt oscillations down to a minimum when I have a passenger onboard or when on highway.

Wife's '15 F3S, 25k miles just bought used last Nov. She rode it 100 miles back then, sprocket blew out on the road. Dealer installed the white sprocket back then.
Got the recall letter, I will follow up in the fall with the recall then.
That failure is what got me onto this forum BTW so I could learn from those before me.
