What’s your average MPG using what octane fuel, RT or F3,F3L?
When I checked twice on a recent trip, With trailer and two up riding, I averaged 33.5 mpg with Monster Fuel Injection Stage 1 ECU upgrade using premium.
So, the consensus average is about 35mpg.+-
Kool, my mini van gets 27mpg…….gives me more reasons to ride the spyder.

I am a more spirited rider, just recently switched to 87 (4 tanks) been getting on average about 31.2 down from about 31.7 with 93. Only noticed a slight difference in performance when driving on the higher end of the scale on the highway.

Around 33-34 on my regular commute using 87. 2014 RTS.

I usually use the cruise on the highway set at 65.

I don't ride distance, any more than an hour and that seat starts to hurt. Trying to get a Laam seat, but he's impossible to get hold of....

33 miles per gallon the last I checked. This year I've been burning mid grade 89. No issues, vroom vroom!

Between 35-38 using 87. I use top tier gas only.

I have a 14 RT and avg. between 38 & 40 MPG's ( the ONLY accurate measurement for MPG's is on a DYNO - for lots of reasons ). I use whatever 87 w/ethyl I get for the lowest price available ...... good luck ..... Mike

With my 2020 F3L I am getting 38-42 running 91 premium, ethanol free. Usually Shell, Sinclair or other top tier brand. I do not use ECO mode.

I have a 2013 RTS SE5 running 87 from the cheapest per gallon price. In town only so far and not fast accelerating (no fun) I get 31-33mpg. Currently have only 14K miles in it.

2014 RTS with Stage 1 flash and modified intake------- 38 to 40 with 91 octane fuel. There are SOOO many variables for fuel milage though, speed being one of the largest.

I consistently get 2-3 mpg better using ethanol free gas versus 10% ethanol. That said, I get as low as 29sh mpg at 80mph across SD I90 with all my luggage installed. With the same luggage at slower 50's mph, I get mid 30's. No luggage/locally, I have no problem getting near 40mpg. This is with my Fuel Moto tune installed.

I have a lead hand so I'm happy to get ~30 MPG on my RT Base using (mostly) 89. I measure my enjoyment by G-forces, not MPG.

I burn mid-grade E-10, ride mostly one-up, not heavily loaded, and use cruise-control everywhere (to not aggravate my arthritic hands).

Life of vehicle (109,000 miles): 37.35

Last 6,500 miles: 38.20

Last 9 tankfuls: 39.27 ..... (Because of my new K&N Air Filter? I dunno.)

In all my 1330's (three now), I get on average high 30's in all three. A couple of times....low 40's. I check almost every tankful.

I do not use the mpg stuff the bike puts out. I zero the trip meter at each fill up, fill to the same level each time, and divide miles driven on the tank by gallons to fill. I use 87 with 10% ethanol. I have been using low octane for many years now and have noticed NO difference in operation or mileage when I quit using premium. About 2015.

Also had 4 998's. Always used premium in them. Mileage was in the low 30's. About 10 mpg lower than the 1330's.

There have been a few threads about low octane vs. premium, performance vs. mileage. All are interesting reads. My bottom line is printed above.

2014 RT SE6, stage II, K&N air filter, cat delete with baffle, and factory muffler 38/40 MPG. I use ECO most of the time. Run 91 all the time and have bumped 45 MPG a couple of times and 33 MPG a few times. Right now I'm tracking long term MPG by averaging figures over a month or two and see how MPG changes if any. Something I noticed popped up but I can't confirm it yet, is that I'm possibly getting better MPG at 65 MPH than I was at 60 MPH. The 1330 seems to run smoother and quieter at 65 than it did at 60 before the stage II upgrade. Could wishful thinking or just imagination. I'll have to keep on tracking my MPG to figure that one out.

Running premium exclusively for 3 years and almost always on secondary roads (not interstates) I always got 40 MPG. .....Jim

There is no real good reason to run high test, unless your one of these guys that like to mess with your ECU!! the bike will run just fine and your smiles for miles will go up in your bank account!

my 2011 RTS got 33.7 last week only time I have really checked it . my bike is completely stock , riding 1 up . average speed 55 to 65 & mostly local highways. High Test Fuel . only has 17,600 miles on it . Ride On !

...I agree with you on that mileage thing. You get what you get by the way you run/ryde your Spyder..
I have gotten up to 40mpg but my normal is around 30 - 32 mpg.

For Spyder models, your machine will perform to its highest potential and best performance on 91-octane fuel with no ethanol. That said, you will not damage anything if you use 87-octane fuel with no more than 10% ethanol, it just won’t perform top its full potential. Ryker models perform well on 87-octane fuels. Do NOT use E15 or any fuel with more that 10% ethanol in any recreational vehicle as this will damage the engine.

On a trip across Canada 2 up towing a trailer. Using 91 or 87 depending, sometimes no 91 available. Not keeping an accurate account, but seem to be averaging 16 Km per litre regardless.

Keep track of the gas prices in Victoria BC. If 91 octane is the same or less price than 87 octane in Victoria, good deal.

Wow! Looking at the gas mileage some of you are getting I may have to look at my driving habits. Riding 2 up most of the time I'm getting 32 to 33 mpg using 91 octane no ethanol. Maybe I'm having too much fun!
