Any way of Locating a forum member by location?
Other forums have a way to locate forum members by city. I don't see such a list of members here. Is there one that I an just not seeing?

I see you are from Tenn, and if I wanted to get ahold of you I would PM you! I guess I don't know what you're asking!

Appears "spyder lovers rescue" and "Spyder Lover User Map" no longer exists. Shame, shame, shame. Now that I have the ability to help another SL in distress, the page to make contacts no longer is available.

I agree with the OP, it would be handy to be able to locate members of this forum by location. I am a past member of a Gold Wing and a Kawasaki Concours group and in both of those forums they even published an annual book you could keep on the bike to locate members by location with information as to how to contact them to communicate whether because out of need or desire to get together with members with similar bikes. Both groups even indicated in their book the facilities a member had available or would make available to members in need.

We met a Forum member at a local cruise-in and thought about contacting them. We know the name of the small town they live in and hoped to get their contact info from this Forum.

I believe our Admin here told us a while back that the 3rd party plug-in maps weren't working the way they were advertised &/or the way people on this Forum expected, and he was looking into ways to either get them working properly or finding some alternatives that didn't cost an arm & a leg that would work.... but due to the costs & difficulties in integrating that sort of product, not to hold our breath! . And speaking from experience, I'm with him on that! There's not much besides that we can do; cos if the plug-ins won't play nice with the host platform, it basically comes down to which you prefer to stay running - the Forum, or the map?!? Me, I'll put my bid in for the Forum!
That aside, many members here haven't loaded any useful info into the Location Field on their Profile, effectively negating any likelihood of using that feature for a helpful search. . But at least you can still check the posts & threads under each State in the Spyder & Ryker Riding Clubs section... errrm, maybe not, cos not everyone has posted in them either! . Maybe you could try posting a thread in General Discussion telling people broadly where you are planning on going and asking for contact details from any members reasonably close along your proposed route??
Sorry, but I reckon that's all that's realistically on offer atm....

Member search by location has always been a part of vbulletin.

It would be nice if we had a more useable app for this. Seriously.
Obviously there is no "right click" on a phone, just double tap the map to start a new marker.

The map is now showing.

I notice some posts/comments, the person's name, what they are riding, city and state, but not many. Those that wish to share, can, those that don't can opt out. Seems privacy is a big thing these days of uncertainty. I too am interested in where others are, I might see someone near me that rides a Spyder.

Many members don't provide their city or town, instead giving just the state or region or even just country.

I think we need a better app than the one built into vBulletin.
