I was happy to volunteer (had to quit school in 10th grade to do it!). I'd happily step up again if asked.

I removed my original post to prevent any confusion between those that served in the military and those that died while serving.

My appreciation for those who served, both the ones who came back and the ones who did not, has grown over the years. I did not serve. Both of my brothers served in the Army, Vietnam. My dad was in the Navy, Korean war. And my grandfather in the Navy, WWI.
We owe you more than we can ever repay. I'm glad I lived long enough to appreciate what you did for America.
