Utter frustration - are dealers taking advantage of shortages?!?
Been looking for an F3L for awhile now. (2017 to new). Thought I found a new 2021; emailed dealer to see if it was still available. Yeay...yes available...for $31000. + T
Seems like some price gouging happening...taking advantage of supply shortages. Am I wrong? Can't do 2 wheels anymore due to health concerns, but I'm just not ready to quit riding. May have to give up the dream

Your money. Me personally, heck no!
Best of luck.

I found one in Georgia but they wanted 6K over sticker (MSRP). I now have one at dealer in W. Va. but incomplete and waiting on parts.

There are plenty of gently used ones if you are not dead set on new. We bought our 2014 RT-L from a member here on the site in the fall of 2017 with only 6968 miles on it. It has been pretty much flawless for us and we paid just a bit over half of new price.
Those who say " I can't" will always be right.

Choke, choke, cough, cough……..you said a F3L correct? That price he gave is you is higher than a sea to sky series. Which is the most expensive. I’d say “have fun” to that dealer as you “laugh” at him. NO WAY! That’s not makeup that pure desperation and stupidity. Sort of like guys trying to sell a one season used Mach skidoo for $28K. DON’T THINK SO!

Personally, I think that’s being very unfair. The majority of our sponsors to start with.... and if you’re referring to dealers only, I can’t name them but I quite honestly don’t believe that even half of them are taking advantage. Just my $0.02 worth

Not referring to our sponsors but business in general with this current climate. Are some only reacting to increased cost and grief on their end ? Yes, but there are those that are just upping prices and their profit with no real reason. That was a general statement that you made very specific and that was never my intent. May not agree but hope this clarifies my opinion.

The price that the dealership quoted you was way out of line. But there are private sellers that are taking advantage of people too. There was a 2016 RSS for sale at almost $19k. There are a lot of them out there that are 3-4 years old with under 2k miles and they are advertised as "new". Sorry to break it to them, but if a bike is over a year old, it is not new, it might be "like new", but if the warranty is gone, it is definitely not "new". I suggest looking at a bike that might still have some warranty on it, that way you can purchased the extended warranty if desired. There are great deals out there, you just have to be ready to jump on them when they show, while at the same time being patient and waiting on them. I have a friend that purchased a new 2022 F3, and they are still waiting on it. While I purchased a low milage 2016 F3T for about $9k less than they are paying for their 2022. If you want a new bike, then that is what someone should go for, but I prefer the used market if the deal is right.
Good luck with your search.

Yes--people are taking advantage of the situation. It's not as bad as people selling cans of baby formula for $100 on eBay (Spyders are toys, not a necessity for life for some babies), but it's bad. I've seen "gently used" ones selling for more than new. Your best bet is to find a fair dealer who has some on order and put down a deposit. You'll probably have to wait until late summer to get one, but you shouldn't have to pay an absurd amount above sticker. As of last week, IMotorsports has unsold units--they're waiting on parts just like everyone else, but they are fair with pricing and will deliver anywhere in the country.

Great advice everyone; totally inline with what i"ve been thinking. Actually did contact iMotorsports but the listed unit was already sold. Guess I need to be patient...hard to do when it's ryding time of year! Thanks to everyone on this forum.
