Default Where is the brake alarm beeper located?

Where is the location of the brake alarm beeper, how do I locate it.

Just want to tone it down a bit. Muffle it in some way I guess.
Why on earth would I want that you may ask?

Well. I like to store my SE6 F3 in neutral and dont find the need to report it to the all the immediate neighborhood within 100m.
My neighbor and a mate of mine from 3 doors away was about to ring the Fire Service and report a possible smoke alarm sounding in my shed, turned up with his phone at the ready and puffing from sprinting over.

Not for 1 moment looking for any advice on leaving it with the brake jammed on or off for long periods of time. Thats sorted thanks.

Isopedella, sorry, but that’s a bit ambiguous. I leave my Spyder in neutral, but I DO leave the park brake on. If I want to move the Spyder, I turn the key, release the park brake, move it, and reapply the park brake…..all without starting the Spyder. Are you saying you want to leave the Spyder in neutral, and ALSO leave the park brake off?

My seemingly ambiguous question is " Where is the location of the brake alarm, how do I locate it."

Not for 1 moment looking for any advice on leaving it with the brake jammed of or off for long periods of time. Thats sorted thanks.

I'd be curious about this too. I leave my Spyder parked in the garage with in neutral and the parking brake disengaged. Not sure if this is true or not but my Spyder mechanic said this can potentially save the life of the brakes, rotor or brake motor.

If you do know the location and or how to get to it I would be very interested.

Maybe you can access the micro switch that feels the position of the park-brake motor cog wheel. Should be mid bike Rh when sitting on bike. (locate P brake cable & back track) However, no telling what other programs the computer might be running to check said brake & function * some posters have mentioned the switch failing, cables coming off the cog, & other various parking issues. The “siren” or "beeper" I believe is built-in as part of either ECU or dash.

Have you tried obtaining a manual yet? Or, remove the dash face and track down the sound.

Yes I have, its on its way from the other side of the world...... apparently.

I dont mind having to dig for it , remove stuff but would really appreciate the answer to my question of where it is located so I know where to dig.

Seems to be a mystery so far. Blokes wanting to discuss things but not 1 addresses my question.

Hmmm, I guess trying to stick it in a sock might help muffle it a bit?!?

Sorry, too lame for a Monday arvo, right?!

Anyhoo... my Spyder is a 2013 RT, but I think the loom will still be basically the same.... and I have a vague recollection of there being a beeper tucked into the bundle of wires etc behind the headlights; or more correctly, sorta behind & below the dash cluster.... but it has been a while since I had the dash completely out/off to expose all that stuff, & my forgettory about things that I don't really pay much attention too is getting to be waaayy too good! - Then again, there may well be more than one beeper too..... I can't say I really enjoyed having to get that far into the guts of the Spyder, but if it helps some... Still, it might be a good idea to see if you can find the beeper on one of the schematics, maybe cheapcycle parts or similar??

Over to you... . Good Luck!

Beeper is mentioned 4 times in the manual but not its location. I've also checked the wiring diagram but can't see this marked as a separate unit (though I may have missed it). There is a module for the parking brake but as the beeper is also used for Throttle Body issues I don't think its going to be part of that. I wonder if its built into the dash unit because the only two feeds from the parking break switch go to the module and dash, though possibly that's just for the brake indicator light.

The beeper's in the back side of the cluster, I put a piece of tape over mine to quiet it a bit.

2x . BRP puts beepers in the clusters of SkiDoo's and SeaDoos also.

It is in the dash main gauge cluster. I used an aluminized foil tape over the opening on mine... You have to pull the back of the cluster off to see it.... I did one layer at first and not much difference. Second layer toned it down by half... ;-)

Can you point to a link where I can do this job myself ??

Like the OP, I like to store my bike with the PB off and in neutral.

    Thanks in advance.
