    Mike,

I watched the race on the Today Show today. I found it amazing that the horse was 15th at the beginning of the final stretch, and weaved its way into first. The owner explained the nipping of the track horse at the end. The rider of the track horse was pulling the reins of Rich Strike and Rich Strike was so wound up that it thought it was still racing and someone other than his jockey was pulling on him.

Maybe ..... but IMHO the Rider who was trying to guide Rich Strike should have animal cruelty charges lodged against Him. I rode a horse for 8 yrs with the NYC Mounted Police and never would have tolerated His behavior. ( the rider not Rich Strike ) ..... JMHO ... Mike

I used to bet on the Derby for 31 years, but after what happened last year, no more. The winner was disqualified about 3 weeks later for doping, & the trainer (Baffert) was disbarred from ever entering another horse in this race. I had picked the 2 place horse to win, & played the Exacta - 2nd & 3rd place horse correctly. Did they bother to do the right thing & honor the real winning tickets? NO. This incident cost me approx. $325.00 on 2 separate $2.00 bets. NEVER AGAIN!!
