Default 24 month servicing for a 2020 Ryker Rally

Hello Everyone! I'm new to the forum! I just purchased a pristine, 2020 Ryker Rally with only 1100 miles on it. I'm reading the maintenance schedule and it states at 24 months or 12000 miles the Final drive oil and gear box oil should be changed. Is this service really necessary since with only 1K miles? If so, has anyone tried doing these fluid changes on their own? Any how to tips?

I have done these oil changes. Not difficult. You line up holes in the rear brake disc to access the final drive fill plug with a long 8mm wrench. The procedure is in your Owner's Guide. If you didn't get one, they are available online at Can Am.

The BRP schedule says 12K miles or 2 years whichever comes first. I would follow the manufacturers recommendation. Keep the oils fresh.

Depends on how much you trust the factory to get every last bit of contamination prior to assembly. A little bit can cause a lot of damage and wear. Engine oil is the biggie - DO make sure the oil and filter were changed in the initial service.
Half a million miles, and I ain't dead yet.
