Default How often do you change windshield?

Does anyone have 2 windshields and change out depending on ride? For example I just purchased a new f4 25 inch wide shield. I do admit it’s pretty nice! My wife says the wider does improve the wind flow. I said wonder if the taller 28 inch version would make even more of an improvement? She’s actually fine with the 25 but I just noticed f4 has a demo 28 on sale. I could see swapping the 28 for rallys and long road-trips especially if there’s rain but 25 for all other days. I personally like riding the 25 all the way down by myself. I wouldn’t change every ride just a couple times the summer. Anyone change shields based on types of rides?

I’ve never thought about it. I still use the OEM ‘shield and am very happy with it. I think that maybe no more than 5 times have I raised it (always have it on the lowest). Now have 61,000 kms.

Keep it just off the bottom. It may save the raising and lowering arm from becoming fractured.

I have a F4 tall and wide for my 19 RTL that I bought for the winter. Swap out for summer. But last year I put it back on during the summer because of all the rain. Big difference.

I have the Madstad set up on my F3S. I use a 14" dark gray for everyday and a 22" light tint for trips.

My Spyder is a 2012 with the factory original windshield. I have no need to change it yet in 70,000+ miles.

I have always changed my windshield on every spyder that I owned. I have one height for the summer and a different height for winter riding. I tend to change them in October and again around March.

I called Mark (new owner of F4) today to have him explain exactly what spots are on the demo 28” tall shield. When he went to the warehouse he couldn’t find the one posted online. He said he made a mistake and mis-numbered one. Just figured if it was a small scrape or scuff down low and for $80 off I’d grab it. I’ll run the new 25 wide I just bought for a while or permanently. I had to buy a new shield because BRP no longer make the old 14-19 series RT windshield and mine was badly scuffed and scratched from hooves when I hit a deer last October. I was just looking at changing occasionally for a taller one on long roadtrips (1000 plus miles) with the wife or if heavy rains might be predicted for an extended time which seems to be the norm in May-June anymore and or possibly for fall riding. For the price I’d figured I’d grab it. Its an easy swap maybe 5-10 minutes at tops, just seeing if others might have the same thinking or practice. From the replies, a few do and don’t. Thanks

I thought I was the only one guilty of that.
