High mileage bikes - costs and problems?
A question to all of you out there with bikes with higher mileage:
My bike comes up to 28000 miles and I believe there is a rather bigger service due.
Any ideas about costs?
Also: anything that I should be aware of that typically goes wrong with bikes with this mileage?
Thanks
Stef.

The 28K is a bigger than usual one. At least, with your 2016 RT, you do not have to do a valve check service as was suggested for the 998 twins. Up to $1,500 just for the valves. It was overkill and not needed. Some got charged for the service and nothing was done. I put 36K on my 2010 before trade and it got NO valve checks. Never an issue.
RE: current 28K service. A few did not do the "full" service. I believe it's about $1,000. Others, more mechanical, will come on and offer recommendations. I note your new to the site.
