Default Android Bluetooth connection issues '20 RT - any ideas?

Bought slightly used 2020 RT LTD in Feb. Riding days have been few, so focused on getting a trailer hitch put on to carry my wheelchair.

Today, my blue tooth connection wasn't working so I re-paired up my Android phone. When I first set it up weeks ago, it set up without the 6 number code the APP and videos talk about. After a couple weeks the phone's music player quit working thru the bike speakers.

I called BRP Tech service. They had me uninstall the APP out of the phone and me out of the list of paired phones; with the idea that uninstalling then reinstalling everything would now make it work. NOPE. Menu>settings>Bluetooth> phone> add phone. Then both phone & bike display 6 numbers that match. (yup) Then hitting "pair" on phone yields a no connect message, telling me to check phone's settings. WHAT SETTINGS? I've been thru there to open everything closed. At the same time the bike asks me if it's correct number match, then to flip joystick green/right check (yes) or left/red x (no). In both motions, it registers no. The bike says no, the phone says no....Any ideas?

I'm guessing the phone is up to date? Make sure the apps are up to date also.

I've found that shutting the phone off, waiting a minute then turning it on refreshes it and things work. I have to do it with my iPhone.

shut phone on/off several times. has latest android update. deleted/ reinstalled BRP go connect several times. per direction of the BRP 800-tech support, deleted defective Bluetooth from both bike an phone. now tried several times but can't get them to re-pair. Ottawa is mystified. Tech phone answer-er is referring it to the super geeks at BRP, likely after 3 day holiday. A sweet sounding lady in Tech dept assured me she was hitting 5000 (thought it was in Baseball, .500?) on repairs to not worry. When she failed, she fessed up that she was a new part timer and I was her 5th customer

You don’t use the BRP Go app to pair the phone to the bike. Add phone in menu and have phone in Bluetooth mode. Try pairing a friend’s phone. Sounds kinda weird to set up BT connection without code. How’s the Spyder battery? It’s weird that the Bluetooth just “stopped working” it doesn’t do that unless you did something to the phone.

You are just using the speakers and not a headset? Could be the audio out is set for headset.

thanks for post. Checked both updates & batteries on phone and Bike (30.7). Buddy has a apple phone, it wouldn't load either. Have no clue what I might have done to phone or bike. Tech support in Ottawa says they are "studying the issue" and will call me... Stopped by dealer. Their one Spyder mechanic on vacation til Weds. All other repair staff work on Indians, Hondas, Slingshots, Susukis, etc.

To "load" the dash, ie to see the BRP Go and other apps in the dash requires bluetooth as well as the cable. The cable needs to be an approved one (data as well as power). Not just any cable will work. Before plugging in the phone you need to have the BRP Go app open and the phone unlocked.

Any chance you could try connecting to another Spyder?

did all the openings of apps. no other spyder in area that I know of. There is a kid (I'm 70 so everyone under 40 is a "kid") at the dealer that is a "Blue tooth specialist"; has fixed several spyder blue tooth issues on other bikes. On Vacation til Weds Morning. That's my next step

As it's since in warranty (they transferred the balance of original owner's: Good til Halloween....) they tried pairing 3 phones, Two I-phones, 1 android, with no success. It's either the joy stick or the Bluetooth module. With me using an android and an i-phone, it's not operator error like Canada thought. They are ordering the parts and since the bike is usable, They gave it back for my use until parts show up. Sweet..
