Default Anyone tried Flasher switch profile enlargement for easier operation?

Flasher switch profile enlargement for easier operation.

I have difficulty operating the flasher switch due to a damaged thumb.
Its still there but no movement in the last joint.
Has anyone made something you can fit to make the button a little larger, higher profile maybe.?

    Ideas?

Flasher - turn signal - indicator - going lefty - going rightly.

I want to build up the profile more so I can more easily move it.
    My thumb and gloves.
I cant get hold of it to move it. Howzatt

Try moving it with a gloved stick and you will now.

I don't know, If I am reading this correctly, but can you push a stick?, then the solution could be quit simple, drill a small hole, in the top of the switch, and let someone with a lathe turn you a stick, with some tread at one side, that should allow you to operate the switch, push for right turn, pull for left turn, Just think of one similar to the one in your car0030830_column-mount-indicator-switch-black.jpg

I think that if the switch, would be larger, it would be easier to operate.

the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it........

Yep can push it away (right turn) sometimes by moving my hand sideways a little after sort of clamping it from above.
Just cant pull hook it for a left turn.

Will the knob pull off? Then I could "operate on it" and refit it. Or make a whole new one.

Or fit one of those switches you have in the photo i guess.

Exclamation Be careful with that switch

Isopedella -- I don't have a solution but I do have a warning. The turn signal switch and most other buttons and switches do not directly control the electric current performing the function (the horn button is an exception). Instead they generate CANbus messages sent to the console, etc. If the left-hand assembly is damaged, you're looking at a $400 replacement part.

I discovered this while investigating converting the horn button into the turn signal cancel function.

Perhaps a glove maker would have a solution?

Discovered the switch button levers off with a gently applied flat blade screwdriver. There is a post to attach something to. So looking at something along those lines.

Sounds like a project for those 3-D printer folks.
    And that ain't me. Sorry.
I may be dreaming. But, I hope to get a Spyder or Ryker, soon.

Just read through "Do-s-and-Do-Nots-for-new-Spyder-owners" and the following posts. Lots of good/helpful info.
Lots of other forums could go to school on this.

keep in mind if you need to cancel your blinker you need to be able to push it straight in towards the bars. Still liked the blinkers on the Harley. One on each side. simple push to operate.

I could print something easy peazy. Find someone in your area. They should be able to whip something up for you. Just be sure it is printed out of PETG or better yet, carbon fiber reinforced PETG or PC (polycarbonate).

It is pretty much the same type switch that was on all the Japanese bikes back in the 60s and 70s.
Don't see any reason why you couldn't add some more meat to it.......... maybe cut something from a block of PVC or other hard plastic. Should hold OK if you glue it to the top of the OEM switch with JB Weld or maybe the 3M super epoxy. I bought a block of insulating material to make a welder connection box from the "Online Metals" website. It is super-hard plastic stuff that does not conduct.
