Here in South Oz, we're generally paying something between a little bit more than your NSW low & a bit less than your NSW high, but that is really only after the pre-Christmas price increases.... price increases that are normally short-lived, but this year still haven't dropped anything much since Christmas!

Premium Gas today was $4.03 per gallon. So now cost about $25.00 per tank, well worth it!

    Default Gas prices ? ?

.....I almost hate to post Gasoline prices for Indiana.

I think that the prices are terribly expensive compared to a year ago.

    So here are the prices:
    Regular 87/10%...$3.42 gallon
    Premium 91/10%...$4.10 gallon.

Last Year prices were down $1.00......

Note: all have 10% corn ethanol per gallon.
Indiana grows a lot of Corn. ......

At Costco (top tier) in northern Las Vegas Valley, it think it was $3.59 when I last filled truck last Monday.
To avoid lines, I typically fill the bike (typically 2 gallons) at a 7/11 with Sinclair (top tier) for about $3.79

Bob, Nye County is generally less than Clark County...probably due to taxes? I always fill in Pahrump on my way to Death Valley, so there is no need to top off in Shoshone or Furnace Creek or Stovepipe Wells. Stovepipe Wells is not quite as expensive as Furnace Creek or Shoshone, but for friends expecting premium, it only has 87. Furnace Creek was over $6/gallon a year or so ago.

    New Jersey gas prices range from ~3.70 (87) - 4.10 (91) but Costco runs about .25 less/gal.

Around Olympia, Wa I see anywhere from $3.79 to $4.09 per gal. for regular. Up Avg of 30 cents or more for high test, on top of highest regular price. Doesn't seem to be "brand related either, more "location" related.
Looked up a published listing of "who" sells top tier gas in washington state (actually didn't see any one who didn't (???) and at any station I can find, short of asking them, I don't see ANY identification on their pumps showing if it is high tier.
So.....just a question in general (with no negative intent) because I would like to use them where I can..........how do YOU know in your area, if it is really the "high tier" product?

Hi Teninospyder, what is meant by High tier?

My price quoted is 98 Octane. In my own town of 11,000 people price between Shell and 7/11 can be up to 14 cents per litre for the same 98 Octane fuel.

I had a week away on the Spyder and I was stunned. I bought fuel back home at $1.89/L and when I fuelled up for the return trip found it at $2.25/L

In Australia we have what are called price cycles. The dearest day to buy fuel (Gas) is Tuesdays, cheapest is Sundays, where it can vary as much as 20 cents per litre.

    From this article: https://www.consumerreports.org/car-...h-extra-price/
Top Tier gasoline was developed in 2004 to go beyond the minimum standard for detergent additives to better protect increasingly sophisticated engines from carbon buildup and deposits on the intake valves—which can result in a rough idle, acceleration hesitation, knocking/pinging, and reduced fuel economy.
This gives a good description also. https://www.carfax.com/blog/top-tier-gas

I paid $3.689 for regular today in Mesa, AZ. The people who tell us stuff say our fuel is expensive because it comes from California.

Wow! 98 Octane..... Where can I get my hands on some of that Kickapoo Joy Juice? Don't they use that stuff to get to the moon? I know it don't have any corn syrup in it at that octane. Here in South Carolicki it's $3.25 for 87 and $4.00 for 91. Add another .25 for non-ethanol.

Sorry, but Aussie, and most all of the rest of world except for US and Canada, use a different octane called RON. It's about 8 to 12 higher than the Anti Knock Index we use which is (RON + MON)/2 so askitee's 98 is closer to our 89 or 90. You might find a Google search on octane interesting.

Actually, our 98 RON is generally the Premium fuel available, and is more correctly pretty close to your 93 AKI

The table of equivalences between your North American Anti Knock Index & the our/rest of the World's RON is roughly as follows -

Your 87 AKI = Our 91 RON or Standard ULP
    Your 91 AKI = Our 95 RON
Your 93 AKI = Our 98 RON or Premium

Yes I have to admit the few times I've had to go back to 95 or 91 its like I'm riding with only 1 cylinder of the 3 firing or have left the park brake on - its painful.

Sounds good in theory but if Peter Schiff is right the cost will be prohibitive because of the hyperinflation already built into the system. The general shortages and price increases of most things lately are a clue to where we are headed and it's only just ramping up with manufacturers holding back rising costs that must be passed on soon. General consensus is currently 15% real inflation with a steeper curve coming rapidly. Imagine energy costs to charge the battery rising in tandem with fuel prices which they will and you're no better off.
I can't see an EV Spyder being cheaper than the current crop if you compare to the car EV prices so a disincentive there to start with.
Luxury items like our Spyders are generally the first things to disappear in economic downturns so get on em and enjoy while you can because one way or another circumstances are about to change for the worse for everyone unprepared.
