And, this is why trying to find solid information by searching topics on threads is a painstaking exercise in frustration. Which is why newbies keep asking the same old questions about the same old topics. Which is why PROPERLY DESIGNED AND CONSTRUCTED STICKY threads on common topics would be invaluable.

Gurus aren't necessary for a sticky to be useful. Just someone who thinks and writes in a deliberate, organized, coherent fashion and moderators who are able to impose some discipline on TECHNICAL threads.

I'm not going to hold my breath.

....Well now, let's just think about this situation.
I use to feel young until one day I was going to do something and it happened. I was NOT able to do
what I had done in the past. It was very painful, both Physically and Mentally. ......

So for me, I have enjoyed being an active member of the 'Ole Man Club'. ......

This 'Old Biker' thing really scares me. I will need more help and time to give an answer. .......

Thank You, .......hope you enjoy your day..: )

Not at all. The problem as I see it is the rules, as written, don't provide for any kind of thread topic discipline that can be enforced. In other words, this forum works well for its intended purpose, but not as a repository for objective technical information, which is what people are asking for when they ask for a sticky on after-market tire fitment and performance.

So far, no one has jumped in to do the deed. You are welcome to start a sticky thread on tires. You have good ideas. Go for it.

The subject has kind of been kicked around now for a couple days. Many suggestions made, nothing happing of note.

The "usual" back and forth with good ideas.

    But so far, no takers.

We will let this subject run another day or so. Then if no thread, we should probably close this one down.

I am thinking, not happening at this time.

Let us know if you want it to run or to be closed down.

There is now a Sticky at the top of Spyder General Discussion for you to provide details of the a/mkt Tires you are running on your Spyder.

    https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...Spyder-Details

Any other discussion or off topic posts will be removed from that thread as detailed in the first post, but you are invited to share the info requested as per the first post in the thread.

There is also a Sticky at the top of the Can Am Ryker General Discussion section for those with Rykers to provide details of the a/mkt tires you are running on your Ryker.

    https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...-Ryker-Details

Any other discussion or off topic posts will be removed from that thread as detailed in the first post, but you are invited to share the info requested as per the first post in the thread.

Nb: These Stickies are being trialled - if they don't get posts, are abused, or otherwise fail, they will be removed or un-stuck.

Just want to say that I really like and appreciate the new tire sticky for the Spyder. THANK YOU!!
The structured format is exactly what I have been looking for to more easily be able to find the information I need pertaining to my year and model of Spyder in order to purchase the right size car tire for replacement …. and for which wheels… front or back..
Since Spyder tire sizes are different from car tire sizes I do not know EXACTLY what size car tire to buy just by going to a tire dealer’s website.
In perusing the jillions of tire threads I have several pages of notes I have jotted down so that when the time came to make an actual purchase hopefully I was buying the correct size tire…my notes all end with: ??
I have a few thousand more miles before I have to make the replacement purchase but at least now I will be able to make a proper decision pertinent to my vehicle.

P.s…. I also appreciate that members are putting the year and model in their signature.
Members have some really good skills, experience and information but it is frustrating to figure out later it doesn’t pertain to my year and model Spyder.
Thank you members for updating your signature area.

How about a " templet" that can just be filled in so there is some consistency in the thread????

That's something that's not easy to do..... if at all possible! I don't know if this version even supports them?!

That said, if you just use the mouse to select/highlight the important bits of the previous post, then copy & paste it into your post before editing out their tire details & putting your own in, you've achieved the same result with just a few clicks!

Might be a bit harder on a phone, but if you know how to select & copy text then it shouldn't be too hard to paste & edit the details in your own post.

I hear what you’re saying, but personally I think that way will discourage many. For the computer literate folks, I should think that someone should be able to devise a template that works on this system, especially in this day and age. jmho
