Default Brake lights with key off

Never noticed it before but just added extra flashing brake lights and happened to push on brake pedal with the key in my hand and the brake lights came on.

Just tapped into the brake lights behind the left tailight. Everything else works fine.

No problem. Brake lights come on regardless of where the key is. Ignition on not needed.

Brake lights on all Spyders are live with the key pulled I believe. My 2020RTL is live all the time even with key in hand. Which does cause a problem sometimes when the brake switch module gets sticky. I always look to make sure my brake light is OFF when I walk away.

I believe Federal regulations require all vehicles have brake lights and horns work independent of the ignition.
