    Default GPS Mounting system

    Hey All,
I did search the site but couldn't find anything, forgive me if this is redundant but, who has mounted their Garmin (or other) GPS system on their Spyder (2009 SE5)? I'm trying to decide the best way to get this accomplished. Instructions may not be necessary, but pics would be great.
    Thanks

I decided to cut the little black plastic ring that is between the handlebar and console and then use the supplied U-bolt to install my GPS mount.

I then had the wires go right under the console and zip tied it to the left side under the panels all the way to the battery.

Sorry I am at work and do not have pictures here.

I've mounted my Zumo 450 three different ways on my Spyder. This link shows all three ways. With the NMN risers, you can't beat the 90° RAM ball mount. It's $17 from Aerostich. http://www.aerostich.com/ram-mirror-...unts-flat.html

I found a ram mount at Cabelas that fits over the handlebar cover and doesn't require any cutting or removal of plastic pieces. Sorry, I don't have the number.

I originally mounted my GPS above the console using the KewlMetal console. However, after getting my new stereo and Garmin Zumo 660, I changed and mounted the 660 on the right handlebar

I have mounted mine with a RAM mount on the right handlebar and in the center of the CHAD windshield, just above the instruments. I prefer the center.

I used a Ram mount to mount mine to the CHAD Windshield mount... Keeps the GPS up in field of view so I really don;'t have to take my eyes off the road.

    This works fine for me

I like it because you dont need to take your eyes of the road to see it.

Scotty, that's the way I want to go. Do you have a part number or link for that mount?

    Thanks,
    Joe

I replaced one of the CHAD wingnuts with a RAM-B-337-U ball with a 1/4-20 threaded hole. I had to grind the CHAD wingbolt down a little shorter so it wouldn't bottom out, and I added another stainless fender washer as a shim. There is a RAM component to allow you to do almost anything you can think of.
