+1 on sound system. Auto leveling is just added electronics/software that do much. Two presets, manual adjust like the Goldwing is sufficient.

A few things could be improved, but not much really useless on mine. I bought the F3-S and it came without radio or dash speakers. I have bluetooth helmet, so no problem with that. The F3-S is basically a stripped down model anyway. I would not want to get rid of the frunk because it is the only storage space on mine. It is small, but holds rainsuit, few tools, and first aid kit.

I like mine just the way it was delivered. Have had no DESS issues, so cannot speak about that, sound system is just fine, and I can still hear it at 110 km/h. When going faster than that, I’m paying attention to what is going on around me and not hearing if my radio is playing or not.
Sure, I’ve added my own farkles that make it mine, but I wouldn’t want them added at factory...this way it’s MY SPYDER. No, I don’t have any complaints. Life’s to short to spend my time complaining about the little stuff. If you’re not happy with it, SELL IT!

100% Agree. I’m pretty happy with my 2021 S2S so far with 8k miles.

On my RS - rear fender, as the struts will crack sooner or later and it will fall off anyway
On my F3-T - I was going to say cruise control, but having done 500km on a straight and boring highway yesterday I've changed my mind. Apparently it has a radio/speakers but I've never turned them on.

On my 21 RTL we could do without 3 different ways to adjust the volume on the sound system. I have never used the above tank controls and rarely use the left joystick to adjust the volume. one button is more than enough. Does anyone use the tank controls? What a waste.

I'm with MRH's comment, "BRP Connect". Dump it for something that works and is less complicated. Surely that can be done. Otherwise, a very fine machine. Too bad it's not an option, I would prefer a little price reduction, but it is what it is.

On my 2017 RTL I have the old dash and iPod connect in the the truck. My dads new spyder is all BRP connect. He hates it. That’s his only gripe. Wish he could have the old manual plug, tether and iPod instead of Bluetooth and control with buttons on the left. He also liked the old physical gps that came out of the speakers vs the new built in system. I’d probably agree with that to. He only uses his phone maybe a dozen times a month and now is forced to use it all the time on the spyder. He has limited data.

+ 1 Kenda Tyres.
+ 1 Radio/sound system, the only time I have it on is when I'm washing my '17 RTL.
+ Multiple speed displays - cause you never know which one tells the truth. And as I've posted before - in this day and age it takes real incompetence to stuff this kind of thing up.
+ In Australian models, moving the low beam headlight to what you US/Canadian guys know as foglights. The low beams are useless on country roads at night.
+ Belt drive instead of shaft
+++ The routine of replacing Drive Pulleys .

Overall I am pretty happy with my 2021 RTLtd Spyder for general riding, both in comfort and handling.
I haven’t tried to use the BRP thanks to reading Spyderlover members comments..not really anything on it I would really use…sounds like it is above my pay-scale…LOL!
Having said that I would like to use the navigation it is supposed to provide but not a must-do..maybe one day I will check it out now that I have a fancier smart phone…or buy a Garmin.
I am definitely disappointed with the paint job..particularly the black areas. Seems they could have put a heavier paint on and let it properly cure before they started handling it for shipment.
The tires could definitely be better but these Kendas will get me through the first round of tires whereupon I will definitely switch to one of the alternative brands suggested out here.
Yes… one pays the big bucks and doesn’t get 100% expectation fulfillment… but as it has always been… you pays your nickel, you takes your chances…

I see a few folks dont like belt drive and I dont either but If BRP was to change to shaft drive there would have to be major chassis changes which might push the pricepoint out of range for many folks. On the other hand it would make rear wheel/tire maintenance easier.

I agree with you on the paint job. There are no black areas on my 17rtl but where the seat meets the body there are littles bubbles in the paint, very strange. Also Ive never had paint on any vehicle that will scratch or show rub marks as easy as this Spyder. Its like they used soft paint. Sometimes I clean off a dead bug and find a mark in the paint that I have to buff out.

I love my sound system. Could it be better? Yes, but it is what it is. I am one that doesn't like to have the music piped directly into my ear via bluetooth. So the external speakers and ability to play spodify is great for me. Probably the most useless items on my F3T are the poorly placed mirrors and the small frunk (when compared to the RT, ST or even the RS). Otherwise, I am fine with things as they are. And adjustable windshield on the F3 series would be nice.

The stock rear shock/spring combo on my F3-S SS was worthless for anyone who weighs more than 165 lbs. The rear view mirrors could be better, maybe mounted higher. BRP Connect was so bad...gave up on it. I don't even want to try Go.

I have been pondering this one and so far, I am alright with the amenity level on all of the Spyders I have owned.
One take away, that I have complained about several times, was the removal of the frunk release button on the RT models.
Other than that, I guess I am satisfied.

I really like my '17 RTL. Havent had any problems with it. I thought about trading it in on a '21 or '22 RTL or a F3L when they come in. But looking a '21 RTL over closely an taking a demo ride on one I wasnt impressed enough to get rid of mine. Less painted surfaces, crappy brp connect, an the troubles I see here with them that the higher powers at BRP wont fix. Best stay with mine an wait an see if BRP will listen to people that actually ride spyders . Not just sit in a office an guess what people should want, and put it on. Just my thoughts.

I'm OK with all the amenities on my 2020 RTL, but I still prefer a Garmin GPS.
It would be nice of BRP connect could accept bluetooth pairing from the Garmin. The bluetooth auxiliary dongles are a workaround, but they don't allow for full integration with the BRP systems.
One thing I'd like to see returned is a fully manual transmission.
It took a while getting used to the semi auto paddle shifts, and I'm OK with it.
Still, I'd prefer the fully manual transmission, including the clutch.
That's my opinion, I could be wrong, and I'm sure someone on this site would be delighted to point it out.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

Now you see, I'm the opposite. It's been a long time since any of my cars had manual transmissions. Obviously my motorcycles do, but somehow they seem to be in a different category in my mind.
I would prefer my RT LTD to have a fully automatic transmission (not a double clutch or CVT though) with manual override using the paddles. The RT Limited seems more like a relaxed cruiser to me and a nice smooth auto transmission, 6 speed or more, would to my mind be preferable. I could see a manual option on a Ryker or some of the sportier Spyders, but on the RT Limited or Sea-to-Sky I would go fully auto all the way.
Funny how different people prefer different things and how much we instinctively consider the controls to be motorcycle derived or car derived. Lol

And while they're removing volume buttons (I count 4 - joystick, volume on the left handlebar, volume on the "tank" and volume by the passenger seat), put the windshield button back on the left handlebar where it was on my '19.

My complaint about turn signals not bad but, non cancelling feature not available except on right or left turns, I'd like to see road distance cancellation. Lane change ya gotta push real hard on the button at the middle, then sometime it goes to the opposite turn signal. Just sort of distracting. 2020 RTL.......

I'm sure it's like the earlier years. It's not a distance cancel but it is a time cancel, about 30 seconds. Try it. Just be patient!
