I realize this is waaaaaaaaaaay off topic .... but I read an article published by the Cleveland Clinic that looks very promising .... ( google Cleveland Clinic Viagra study for more details ) .... the short version .... over 7 million people were look at for the past 6 years, 70% of the subjects didn't get Alzeimers. Further clinical are planned. .... I don't take Viagra, but am giving it some thought ..... Mike

BlueKnightMike, not only a 'good' comment, but a 'great' comment. Can we say here that some folks have no compassion? If not, then the mods can delete this immediately.

As a member of a family who has been touched by this disease many times, this is good news to hear. Unfortunately the males on my moms side of the family often get this disease, and although the males on my dads side don't, they tend to die from heart disease around age 70. I am currently 55 and (thank God) only take a pill for acid refux. But I do often think about what might be in store for me later in life. Thanks for the information, and I am also thinking it will keep the wife happier also. Lol!

I don't think Alzheimer's is at all funny. I thought YOU were joking about it with your Viagra connection.
My mother died of it. My sister and I lived through her condition daily for several years.

Botox/ Viagra Who knows-------
.
Off topic sorta:
A British medical team found that the " time of day" that the covid "vaccine" was administered effected the anti-body count......... So Viagra just might be a treatment for a nasty "oldtimers" desease. GOOD!!! Too bad they didn't look into this 10 years ago.
Hope this is the "silver bullet". But OTOH----- we still have the common cold???? But if Botox works on migraine headachs--- who knows?????

My Mother died from A. I'm probably prone to get it, so anything related is of interest to me.
On a side note as mentioned above... There are doctors that have been looking at existing drugs to combat covid. They have had great results, but of course, they have been cancelled and their info is having a hard time getting out. As they say, "Follow the money".
I think this kind of research could yield some amazing results. Not to mention it would be significantly cheaper to produce and dispense.

I have read that it's Not really healthy to take Viagra if you don't need it. I don't need it but take a tablespoon of Whey protein with 2 or 3 red grapes which is like heaven on earth?

Botox has been found to be pretty good for some female bladder issues. Not 100% and kinda spendy since it has to be done internally but for those with those issues, it can help short term.

For those of us with prostrate issues, that little blue pill is a lifesaver.

I’m going to chime in here and invite the other mods to delete the entire thread and my post if they like. Like many here I lost both parents to Alzheimer’s. I know the pain and suffering it causes as do all of us that have watched a loved one go through it. I also have two children currently losing their lives to a disease called Friedreichs Ataxia. I don’t deserve any more or less sympathy or compassion than anyone else nor am I asking for it. I can’t imagine anyone on this forum that hasn’t lost a loved one at this point no matter the reason. The loss and pain are the same.
What I will ask of this community is to share these stories with compassion as well as hopes for cure or less suffering. If you can’t do that please don’t post in this thread.

That’s just awesome news! I watched my grandmother wither away and eventually die from this horrible disease.

Here's the actual article:
https://newsroom.clevelandclinic.org...imers-disease/
There were a number of comments toward the end of the article that were interesting, concerning the actual cause of Alzheimers.
As for the comment -"Not really healthy to take Viagra if you don't need it", that would apply to those with cardiac issues or high blood pressure requiring the need to be extra careful, and talk to your dr.

Am I allowed to ask what this does for you? I ask b/c I used to take whey protein to see if it helped with my workouts, at the gym I'm talking; but, I never felt any benefits.

I had caught the story a few minutes into it, and they talked about heart(me), lung(me), brain function(me). Finally, they mentioned Viagra. In the story they called it by its chemical name. Not knowing anything about it, my first thought was that I need it! I’m still interested, and will do more study. Thanks, Mike, for posting. Joe

I read a lot of medical articles. I read this article carefully several times but could not find a reference to your statement…. Please point out where you read the cause of Alzheimers.. I have always been highly interested in finding if they have ever found an actual cause… just so I can be aware of what to do and not to do to try and avoid bringing it on. Thank you.

I am sorry for your loss, and as I mentioned, I have had 3 uncles and my grandmother to come down with this disease. I hope this thread is not deleted, as I feel like it has some good information. I think most of the post are ginuine and people need to know about any updates and progress that is being made towards this and any other diseases that we might have issues with. But then again, maybe that is age starting to talk. Once I hit 50 I realized that I am not invincible. I also realize that most of my friends that I ride with and hang around are in their 60+ range. Most of the times I am the baby of the bunch, as I do not like to ride with the more competitive "thunder cat" sport bike riders anymore.
