I didn't want to interrupt another thread...
But, I do have something to be thankful for. Two of my daughters were involved with a liver transplant in 2016. Like other transplant recipients it's kind of shaky the first year with rejections. However 5 years later with smooth sailing I get a call 2 weeks ago from my daughter's (who received the liver) husband. It's not the liver, but another problem. The hospital she is at won't do the necessary surgery b/c there isn't a doctor qualified to do anything with her liver, should the liver become involved. The surgery was not going to be on her liver, but needed to be done due to her becoming septic. They tried other hospitals in the area that did have someone on board in case the liver became involved, but they had no bed available. Thru due diligence someone found a hospital further away, but they couldn't use an ambulance b/c it was too slow. They ordered up a helicopter and flew her to the hospital and right up to the operating room. She is now home and doing well.
