Default An understanding was reached about paddle shifter

Went back to Leaders RPM today to speak again with the service writer about replacement of my paddle shifter unit on my 2018 F3T. This time I went armed with the service bulletin from BRP about intermittent problems with the paddle shifter not functioning properly. When he looked at that and then found it on the computer he quickly changed his tune to we will order this today and it will be here next week when the spyder tech. gets to your bike. He can switch it out and you'll be on your way.

I had already explained to him that this was the second time in a month that this was flat bedded to a BRP dealer. His come back was to repeat that if they couldn't reproduce the problem they wouldn't be able to fix it; that they were not in the habit of replacing parts needlessly. I had told him previously that there was a service bulletin which he couldn't find. When confronted with the black and white evidence, then they did what was the right thing to do. Hopefully will have the bike back out of the shop by the end of next week

Nice follow up. It does help to have the evidence in your hand.

Al, that is TOTAL B.S., if the shifter ceases to function even briefly .... It's going to register in the computer ..... How do I know this , because back in 2014 I brought my 12 RSS to the BRP mechanics who had a servicing TT unit at the event ( SpyderFest ) .... the Tech told me there were 249error events related to my PADDLE-SHIFTER - STORED in the computer..... the Stealer I had look at it didn't find any of them ....The BRP Tech contacted Him and we got the Shifter Re-placed under warranty ..... good luck ... And I guess the perfect ending the Dealer refunded any payments you may have been charged for sorting this issue.
