    Default Charging GPS issues

Hi! I have a Can am Spyder ST LTD 2014. It came with Garmin Nuvi zumo 660 installed. The GPS will not charge and the same if I use an adapter with my mobile phone. How do I troubleshoot or find the connection here?

You need to find the 12v power source feeding your GPS. You may have a blown fuse or the wire is disconnected. Can you follow the wires from the GPS back to source? Maybe there's an add-on fuse block. I don't know the 2014 wiring and can't help beyond the basics. You'll need a Volt meter or 12v test light to probe along the wire path from source up to GPS.

You either have a bad harness or blown fuse if used.

The connection for the 660 is on the right side behind the side panels I think. I know it is for my 2014 RT.

Hook a USB connector to it at home to make sure it is still taking a charge.

Also You can take a pencil with a rubber eraser on it and scrub over the pins on the back of the GPS and on the spots on the mount. They get dirty over time.

FYI tested & GPS is attached to 15A radio fuse (default:sitting driving position)RH box position 3 0AD88A07-A839-462F-A6D0-55E010A6DE41.jpeg
Definitely would attempt if will charge by itself from computer or other usb power, not to mention just remove battery & put back in. Check no corrosion-swelling.

If the GPS is the same age as the bike, there is a good probability that the battery is at the end of its life.
For some portable devices (your GPS in this case) if the batteries are dead, the device will not work if battery cannot hold a charge.

Step 1. Plug your GPS into a wall charger and see if it indicates it is charging.
Let it charge fully then turn it on.
Does the GPS stay on? If yes, problem is with the bike and electrical circuits.

Here is a link to the Garmin manual if you dont have one any longer.

I guess if the radio is working, then it's not the fuse...?

Possibly however, test was on a 2013. Hopefully not many harness changes between the years, they were in process of phasing out few things & solving heat issues so hard to know.
