HCM filter replacement overdue - which panels need to come off?
I am planning to change the HCM filter on our 2020 RTL. It is a little over due at 31K miles. I have the service manual but it doesn't show any illustration of what panels I need to remove. I am thinking it is just the panel next to the brake pedal. Has anyone done this maintenance on their own yet? Any pictures would sure help.

It is pretty obvious that most people are taking there bikes to a dealer for service.

That's true, but there are enough shade-tree mechanics here for you (and I) to get a helpful response.

I have an F-3S and the HCM filter cover is behind the brake pedal. It should be the same on your RT since both have the 1330 engines. Make sure you drain the oil from both oil plugs first or you will have a lot of oil come out of that filter. And you don’t need BUDS to do it.

Right splash guard, engine cover, trim piece. See body exploded view in manual. I’m out of town for a month, or I would take pictures. Joe
