    Default Norton "security"

Did you ever notice that their standard subscription almost always picks up no "issues" (threats) but their supplemental protection scans always picks up multiple (often many) "threats and issues".

Sounds like another "slick" marketing technique to me.

Currently, I am using Webroot on two computers. I just bought a third and that came with McAffee. I have until next March to make a renewal choice. So far, happy with the ones I am using.

Been using Mcafee for my business, for years now, and never had any issue, I work in a franchise, and collegues, have been infected on a regular basis, even with ransom demands
the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it........

On my Windows 10 machines, I find Microsoft's included Windows Security (aka Defender) to do a good job. No extra cost and no hassle.

On my Macs, I'm running Sophos Home Premium. Not very expensive at about $50/year, including a license for 10 installs. It puts very little extra load on the computer's resources, and uses cloud-based signatures. It has a central console to keep track of any and all installs under the license, so I keep an eye on the whole family's Macs and let them know if I see any problems.

There is a free version of Sophos (Intercept X) for all iOS devices, and I use that too. I've never had a serious problem with any of the Sophos tools. Sophos is not a well-known brand at the consumer level because their primary focus is in corporate network endpoint protection.

FWIW, I work in information security for a living. I'm not trying to plug any particular product, just letting you know what I've found to work well for me.
