Default Kickstart on older GS/ST? :)

While I was at the dealer today, I was looking around at some of the bikes sitting waiting for service. I saw this GS/ST (?). Just out of curiousity, what is the lever my arrow points to? Not in the right place for a shifter or foot peg and while I didn't get on my hands and knees to look under the bike, from what I saw, it almost looked like it was movable. Honestly, the first thing that came to mind was a kickstand.

I have OCD so you don't know how difficult it was NOT to try to push it. (I didn't touch the bike.)

    So, what is it?

Yes, earlier version of the parking brake. My spouse was often "over doing it" when applying the parking brake. I got real good at adjusting the cable.

Thanks. Parking brake never came to mind. I guess I always thought EVERY Spyder (GS/ST/Ryker/F3/RT) had an electronic parking brake.

BTW, was that a GS or an ST?

It is a GS or RS 2008 to 2012. 2013 and later RS model have different front wheels and fenders. Definitely not an ST.
