Cos they reallystink when they burn (that is, IF they burn, it takes a bit of heat! . Do you really need to ask me how I know this.... ) & besides, the fumes are toxic! . Maybe you could bolt it to the wall as a trophy?!? Or flip it upside down & use it as a planter box?!? . Doesn't seem to be much call for early model RT seats tho, does there?!? I guess the freight cost is the killer....

Killer isn't the word for it, ups, snail mail postage, OMG couldn't believe it!!!! I am a welder, so I have the heat to do the job!! May be on the New Years fire!! I am not putting back upstairs, the mice can have it for a house!!! Maybe they will leave my boat alone!!!

I'm glad to hear you made the sale & I hope the new owner is just as happy with their 'new to them' gel insert 2012 RT seat bought to fit onto a 2014 RT as I have been with the 2015 RT seat that I bought some years now to go on my 2013 RT. . It's a great thing that all the RT seats are interchangeable isn't it?? Well, at least all the seats from the initial 2010 RT's right thru until the model upgrade & the subsequent change to those individual rider & pillion seats that came along with the new style 2020 RT's anyway.
And now that the seat is sold Mikey, how about clicking on Thread Tools (in the middle of the page just above your first post) and then 'Mark this thread as sold...' from the bottom of the drop down list in order to change the prefix to Sold and Close the thread off?
