Shining leather

I put a new leather strap on my watch. Looks good but I would like to add just a bit of shine. Someone said leather polish ruins the leather. Is there anything out there that will not damage it?

Dunno what leather polish that 'someone' was using, but all the leather polishes I have & use here in Oz are actually GOOD for leather (the real stuff anyway! ) & if they're applied properly, they will give it a shine!

Lexol is what I use. Works good.

Leather polish....Not SHOE POLISH (that won't work) That's my 2 cents..

Mink oil ............ keeps the leather soft and keeps it from drying out.
