Where to mount 2" cube aux lights
I have a pair of 2" cube aux lights. I'm looking for mounting ideas. I like the a-arm, but its oval, not round. Also not sure I should just mount them on the side panels. Any ideas?

Light up the road in front. Not for distance.

I used these existing holes on the frame:

Fasteners, standoffs, angle aluminum from hardware store. L bracket from a bar mounting kit.

If you get tube clamps, you can mount them right to the A-arms.

Thats how I mounted my cube lights on the lower A-arms. Using the tube clamps, they come with rubber spacers that allow a snug fit on the oval shape. The rubber spacers also prevent the clamp from scratching the paint. By the way, thats a nice job Dick, finding those holes in the frame and making those brackets.

If you care about this sort of thing:
§ 393.25 Requirements for lamps other than head lamps.
(a) Mounting. All lamps shall be securely mounted on a rigid part of the vehicle.
24402. (a) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two auxiliary driving lamps mounted on the front at a height of not less than 16 inches nor more than 42 inches. Driving lamps are lamps designed for supplementing the upper beam from headlamps and may not be lighted with the lower beam.

Mounted mine on the A-arms. The tube clamps centered themselves on the oval tube and basically ensured they were level, then I adjusted them for lateral direction and tightened the bolts using a bit of locktite for safety. B2C84BD5-6202-4666-B592-AA47905A9CE3.jpg
Not sure why the pic is sideways.

This is excellent. Can you please tell me the length of the stand-offs you used?

I just completed my lights using his method. Standoffs were 3/4".
