Poorly designed OEM Tank bag! Anyone else?
Just installed the Can Am tank bag on my Ryker and I think it’s poorly designed since you have to remove it every time you open the fuel door, does anyone else feel that way?

You may have installed it wrong.

I see you have a tank bag that is magnetic.

Same here, mine opened and closed freely with the bag installed.

The magnets in the tank bag attach in a high and a low position. In the low position the fuel door is accessible.

Our situation with my wife's RT-S isn't much better. First of all, you have to open the seat to add fuel. To add insult to injury, we travel with a pack on the passenger seat area, that has to be removed to open the seat.
I have taken my Suzuki on the last few trips. It has a magnetic tank bag. Has to be removed to add fuel.
Not necessarily a poor design, just part of the experience.

I like its position when your not fueling.. for me its worth pulling it down with no effort when you fuel up for it to be in a better position when you ride.

I was just checking this tank bag in person while at my Can Am dealer yesterday getting an inspection sticker. They had one mounted to a showroom floor Ryker so I was able to play with it in its natural environment.
I like it. I know the clear plastic cracks due to UV rays and I have heard comments about the zippered compartment opening around the bottom of it instead of the top (allowing items to fall out while you're opening it)
I took all of that into consideration while playing with the snaps and the magnets and seeing how much of a pain it was when adding gas. To me its not a big deal.
My biggest knock on the tank bag is that it doesn't fit my Samsung S21...and I'm sure it doesn't fit a lot of phones currently being made.

The Big Bikes Parts (Hopnel) bag has it's issues, too. I have not been able to remove it without removing the adhesive strips, and my iPhone 7+ barely fits in it.
