How hard is it to Swap tires at home?
How hard is it to swap tires out at home? If you buy the tires yourself and take them to a garage for mounting and balancing? Is it difficult to remove the wheels and anything you need to watch out for?
Thanks in advance,

The fronts aren't at all difficult to remove for tire replacement, I removed one wheel at a time. The rear wheel is another matter all together!

You will have to jack up the front of the bike and block or use jack stands, if you don't the bike will flip flop on you! The back, that is not a big deal, but you should go on you tube and watch the clip on the job, there is a set, steps to go threw, to make it safe and not cause you troubles! Good Luck!!

Most tire shops can mount tires as the Spyder rims are actually car design rims; however, most of the shops to not have the smaller cone to fit tire balancing machine. If you have a floor jack and a couple of jack stands you can remove both front wheels and leave the Spyder on the jack stands until you have the new tires on the rims. You need a 13/16" socket to remove the lug nuts and you should have a torque wrench to tighten them evenly. There are a number of videos on removing the rear wheel.

As others mentioned, fronts are easy, just like car wheels. Put both sides on jack stands and you can take them to a shop for mounting.
The rear is quite a bit more involved. You have to take off the brake caliper, disconnect the bottom of the shock so the swingarm hangs down, loosen the nuts on the axle and then slide the axle out and the wheel should drop down. Once off you have a bit more disassembly to do with the wheel itself before you can take it to get the tire swapped. And you may have to mess with the belt tracking if any of those adjustments are touched. Not really a fun job in my book and I have done it twice.
