Guess I will look into the canister thingy next - seems simple enough by the posts I've read.
I didn't remove mine for a few reasons .... so I did re-arranged the hoses so NO GAS could get into the cannister .... look at my album on what I did .... IF you suspect the cannister did get contaminated ....it you stop anymore from getting in - it will dry out .... that's what I did ... Mike

Just a wee follow-up on things since the new CPS unit and new silicone vacuum hoses.
6 tanks of gas and no issues. Mileage appears to have actually increased by about 1-1/2 to 2 MPG.
Thanks again for all that commented or made suggestions.
