Default Axle nut torque - is 150 ft/lbs plus a tug enough?

Installed new tire today, I know torque value is 166 ft.pounds but my torque wrench only goes to 150. So is 150 plus a tug ok. Thanks

That’s what I did on mine, and it has been fine for 4 years, p3fe. Don’t quote me, but there is an allowed variance on the torque figure of maybe 10%? I’ll check my workshop manual when I get a chance.

The variance is actually +/- 11lbs p3fe. I remember now. I reached 150 and gave it a tiny tug (the torque wrench, that is ), just to put it in spec.

Get one of these, and do the formula to get the right torque, with this attachment and my torque wrench it is 117 lb ft.
