New Member 2012 RT Ltd with a coolant leak!

My 2021 Spyder RT LT has been in the shop for over a week now.

Bike has a coolant leak

Shop said they ordered a new coolant tank, hoses and clamps last Wednesday ( 5/19/21)

Called yesterday ( 5/25/21) and dealer said clamps were the only items they have received

Wow indeed as clamps should very well be shop supplies least they talked to you, hopefully just stall tactic because everyone is backed up plus COVID delays

Parts are not available for many reasons and now that we have covid-19 it's a mess.

Hopefully they will get the Parts in and very quickly get it done. ........

Could be a lot worse-Trust me, read my signature.

As for warranty its BRP's rules so if the Dealer wants to get reimburse they have to follow what BRP wants.
We loose time without our rides - while the dealer fights to make sure they get paid.

Update

I called # 1 dealer again on Thursday (5/27/21 )

Now they are saying that they do not have the clamps but they have the coolant tank and hose. Talk about things being screwed up.


I went to the #1 dealer today (6/1/21 ) told clamps have not showed up yet. Asked for part number of clamp and I would try to find two of them.

When I got home I called their other store #2 and they said they had 23 clamps in stock. Explained to them that my bike has been sitting for 2 weeks waiting for clamp.

They said that the other shop #1 should have checked their store #2 inventory

Contacted shop #1 where my bike is at and told them they needed to send someone to pick up clamps.

Got a call later in the day said bike would be ready tomorrow

Had to replace an antifreeze tank on a 2016 RTL that I bought new! Tank came from factory with a unglued top portion, so when engine got warm and fluid flowed back in the tank, it would leak out on the ground! I got tired of waiting on dealer, so I ordered the tank and replaced it myself! Problem solved! I now have a 2018 F-3 Limited that is way better on curves, etc. due to the fact you are sitting down in it, instead of on top of it!

Good morning, I'm picking up "Sonja" from my dealer this morning. When I dropped her off (May 19) they said it would be 2 weeks. Said ok I was going on vacation anyway. So 15 days later I get the call she's done. I use Johnny K's Powersports in Niles Ohio about an hour from home (Uniontown Ohio). I am sorry you are having a tough time of it but it will, I hope, get better. Have a great day, take care and God Bless
