If you drive on and off a trailer. Make sure you dont get hung up on it. If you bend it your screwed. It wont shift into reverse. Some have done it with steep angled gates.

Unfortunately I did just that. Do I need to replace the actuator and bracket or just the bracket? Thanks in advance.

If you just bent the bracket and didn't break the actuator. Try just replacing the bracket.

You might get away with just carefully bending the bracket back & returning it all to its 'pre-jacked' position...

Worth a shot tho! And then if you still can't select reverse, you can look at buying just a new/replacement bracket.

    Good Luck!

Too late. Lol. Already done that. Can’t find the sweet spot. Do I need just the bracket replaced or the actuator as well?

Usually, it's just a matter of replacing the bracket! Buuut....

Would anyone mind if I pointed out that this is a stupidly engineered component? Seems like the elephant in the room.

Yes it is. BRP should have put a skid plate under it.

A skid plate is one way to go. But this thing hangs down ridiculously low. A skid plate would simply exaggerate the problem. Why take a fairly fragile component and place it where it is almost sure to get whacked? Surely, there must be a way to tuck it up into a more protected position. It's almost like they pasted this on as an afterthought. I frankly just don't get it. Engineers looked at this and said; 'Oh ya! This is a GOOD Idea!'

My reverse actuator switch failed twice and it was never bumped or damaged.
