Default Blinded by the late day sun

While riding in the late afternoon when the sun is low it blinds me while driving. I decided I have to find a way to block the sun from shining in my eyes with my open face helmet. I put a strip of black duct tape along the top of the helmet shield and the problem is no longer a problem.

I did the same with the flip-up visor on my full-face helmet.

Visor is usually up, but I pull it down as necessary for sun-blocking duty or in case of rain.

I just buy lids that have internal sun visors for 90% of riding into the sun. I want maximum view from the shield so if sun is glaring, I tilt my head down and let the top of the lid opening become the shade.

Duck tape will fix anything! Flew in airplane back from Montana held together by duct tape. They shouldn’t leave fabric covered aircraft out in a hailstorm.

My Dad was career Air Force where he was a Crew Chief/Flight Engineer and he swore he could keep an aircraft together and in the air with duct tape. Words to his crew: "Just don't tell the pilots."

This is a similar idea as the duct tape. Apply a strip of dark window tint. I've done this for years. I looks good and you can see through it a little.

I've used black duct tape on my last three Arai helmets. In fact, I made a cardboard template to better shape the result. And I almost always ride with the face shield cracked about a finger's width, just to get enough air to breathe.

I don't use some of the aftermarket thingies, because I want an opaque blocker, not a translucent blocker.

My solution is to add a Super Visor to the shield of my helmet.

I use a bumper sticker on the flip up face shield, also my built in sunglasses have a strip of black electric tape across the top.

I use the super-visor on my half-helmet. I just have to lower my head a bit and voila no more sun in the eyes.
