Default Windshield Vent Change 2018 vs 2021

Why did BRP Spyder RT change the windshield vents from 2108 Picture attached shows 2018 Vents at 2” from the bottom and 2021 Vents are at 6” from the bottom? See attached pictures.

I'm interested to know, aswell. I've got a 7Jurock (wide, tinted, tall, recurve) with the PRE-2019 vent cutouts. I don't see a difference in air but maybe there's a reason I don't know about.

I think they may be borrowing from CalSci, without actually infringing on their patents.https://motorcycleinfo/calsci.com/SpyderRTprod.html

Does it reduce the buffeting and backdraft any compared to the earlier version?

Since the airflow pattern probably changed so much I'm sure the vent placement needed to also.

    Lightbulb Vent placement

    .
Maybe someone at BRP used a pressure measurement to find out where the air pressure was highest ( without impinging on visibility) for best placement of a windshield vent. Kinda like where we put in a GW vent when adding one to a ventless shield.
