Tankie rides again!
Tankie’s story: Thanksgiving 2006 I was home on leave from workup training for my first tour in Afghanistan. The Canadian mission was the topic of conversation around the family dinner table.
My oldest son, Nathan, then 14, asked why Canada was sending tanks to Afghanistan. I said we were sending the tanks to protect the infantry.
My youngest son, Timothy, then 4, asked “Daddy, do you have a tank to protect you?” I explained I wouldn’t need one because I’d be working in the headquarters.
Apparently he wasn’t satisfied with that. I’m told after I went back to training he searched stores and catalogues until he found Tankie in the Sears Wishbook. Tankie was my Christmas present. He’s been on 2 tours in Afghanistan, and now he’s my tail-gunner. Tankie protects me.

Thank You for your service!! I spent most of 2003 with CFLCC in Iraq and Kuwait and got a chance to work with a lot of good people from Canada and other Countries. I like Tankie sitting back there looks good .
