    Default New Spyder Rider

Picked up my new 2021-F3 last week and every time I ride it I like it more. I've been a Harley rider for 40 years and now I'm not sure I will ever want to ride my Harley again. This thing is so much fun. I already have a list of modifications I'll be making. I'm sure some of my friends will be getting one now.

When I bought my F3S back in late 2019, I also had a H-D. Owned since new 2009 EGS. I found myself riding the Spyder more and the H-D less. I sold my H-D to a buddy. With quick detach luggage, the Spyder became my tourer. Haven't looked back..

The F3 model is a "luxury" cruiser for sure. I have had a lot of the "real" things...all the way up to 2000cc. We have the F3L's and to us, like driving a Cadillac cruiser.

Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

    Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)

MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles

IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

nothing wrong with having both is good to alternate between them: “keep skills in shape” & or just having a spare if one is in the shop

Start your mods from the bottom up. Suspension is EVERYTHING. Visibility, performance, and farkles come after that. Sway bar, alignment, tires, shocks will radically improve the handling and tracking.
'20 Spyder RT: Bajaron swaybar. Vredestein tires, Pedal Commander, Elka front shocks, GPS/USB/12V handlebar mount, Heli-Bars, Radar Detector, KOTT grills & vents, Shad top case, chin & DRL LEDs.

    Default changes / mods etc.

IMHO give it a year -- bone stock -- at least you will have a basis for changing anything ..... I bet there are tens of 1000's of bone stock Happy Spyder owners .... and this info is from someone who has made 80+ changes to my RT ... I'm handy and resourceful and almost all of my changes were DIY .... which probably saved me 90+% of what I spent. ... good luck .... Mike

Here is the new ride. Named her Black Sunshine! BR windshield is off as I am making some modifications to cure the buffeting that everyone complains about. Hopefully I have the fix. I'll keep you posted. Material for some custom floorboards came in and those will be under way soon as well. Black Sunshine.jpg
