 Best / Worst year for F3?
So.... I've seen a few F3 / F3-S for sale lately... and started wondering. Is there a "good year" for the F3? Is there a year to stay away from?
Please forgive me if there is already a thread. Didn't find one.

F-3 is basically the same (model dependent) since inception, no good or bad years to talk about.

There was a frame issue cracks under passenger area, sorry not sure what years, or resolution.

2015 was the first year for the F3 & F3S. The frame crack issue was only on the 2015's. Not really an issue though. It was taken care of with a mandatory warranty recall. All 2015's should have been fixed with a bolt-on plate under the seat.

From what I have gleaned by the problems posted on this forum, the 2017 seems to have the least troubles. The 2018s had problems with the left handlebar control pod.
But keep this in mind; For every problem posted, there are many thousands out there that never had any. So what you see on any forum is disproportionate to the real picture.
Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.

The F3 basically replaced the ST. I went from a 2014 ST Limited to a 2017 F3 Limited. Nice upgrade!
