Dealership Oil Change
I'm taking my 2016 F3S to the dealer this coming weekend for an oil change. Anything I need to watch out for or make sure they do as part of the oil change. I see some people have mentioned that gaskets were not replaced as part of the oil change. Anything else?

I think that it all depends on the dealership and how conscientious they are. My dealer up here in Chilliwack, BC reminds me when it is time to do things. They’re the only Spyder dealer that I’ve dealt with, so I have never thought twice about anything. If he says it’s time.....I tell him to do it. jmho

Check your service invoice to see if they did in fact change the numerous O-rings, 5 of 'em, one aluminum and one copper washer. Of course, just because they're on the invoice doesn't guarantee the technician doing the job actually changed them. The price for the O-rings and gaskets should be right about $25.00 before sales tax. The oil filter is $16.99. Prices accurate as of January 2021.

What Chris said. Know how to accurately and properly check your oil. I just got mine back from having the stator replaced on a 998 which requires oil tank drain and remove, so an oil change. Just for fun I checked the oil, 7 oz over filled. It is right now. Trust but verify.

One of my local 4WD Service Centres ALWAYS has all the removed parts, including any broken bolts, gaskets, 'O' rings, and filters etc, available for my inspection after they've finished a job - they pride themselves on doing any job, no matter how small, properly to the best of their skills and experience (which is substantial) and having all the removed parts available is just part of that. Sometimes, those removed parts can provide insight into other issues or ongoing concerns; and sometimes, if I'm replacing belts or hoses etc, I keep the 'old but not yet failed' parts as emergency spares.... and I've used them too - but I don't go quite that remote these days!
Maybe you might consider asking them to keep so you can see the removed bits.... who knows, you might want to keep them as samples for doing other jobs/sourcing parts for later?!
Mind you, that won't necessarily stop an unscrupulous operator from finding some other/older removed parts & trotting them out for your inspection tho! After all, the unscrupulous bods ARE unscrupulous & may be quite comfortable with doing something like that!
