Gps traffic and weather

Just put a GPS on my 2020 RTL used the lamonster clamp mount works great. Do you have to pay to get traffic and weather though your GPS or is it already programmed in I have not rode with it yet just made sure it powered up but I seen something about them in the manual zumo XT. Thanks

My Zumo 590LM user manual says the user must be subscribed and connected through a SmartPhone link for both traffic and weather. I do get some traffic information but I have not subscribed to any traffic service nor have I subscribed to any weather service.

That's must be why I receive the traffic info as my iPhone is paired to my Zumo and I have the Garmin Smart Link on the phone. Have never checked the wx but will do so this week.

My older Nuvi 1450 GPS has traffic information. The only requirement is that you have to use the proper power cord, which has a built-in receiver for the traffic radio. No fees involved.

I don't have a Zumo (which is more typical on a motorcycle), but suspect that their traffic info is based on Google Maps or some similar program, so they do require a data connection. When a data connection is involved, there WILL be an extra fee.
