YES YES YES ......you need to get another opinion .... I've been in this web site for over 9 years and NO it's not common .... I'm pretty sure a cylinder pressure test is in order form someone other than that dealer ..... good luck .... BRP states you need the have the Valves checked on the V-twins every 14,000 mi., however many many folks here have discovered that the VALVES DON'T need adjusting .... some her have gone over 100,000 miles without valve checks .....
