Horse knows his way home...... it was the first self-driving vehicle, and more successful than a lot of the current ones.
Great way to get home.....as long as you don't mind sleeping it off in the barn. Barn sour horses only know their way to the barn, not your bedroom. And, left on their own, they are usually in a hurry to get back to the barn...... Hang on cowboy.....!

The comparison of the pics is both funny, and not funny. When I was about 6 years old I was standing up in the back of the pickup my teenage brother was driving. We went around a curve about 300 feet from the house, when, you guessed it, I flew out over the side. After I cleaned the gravel off my face and out of my mouth I walked to the house, crying of course. The big insult, my older brothers didn't even come back to see if I was hurt!

I knew there had to be some kind of advantage to being the oldest, that did not involve baby-sitting little brats, or being the victim of "He hit me" claims.

Left out the wearing of clam diggers...also hearing the testing of air raid sirens while walking to school or watching the steam engine locomotives, or seeing the first sabre jets fly overhead. Those were the days of NO tv, no ‘puters, no calculators. You used your imagination. Your imagination coupled with the radio programs was better than any colour tv.

Yes. I still remember engine #1162 chugging up to Gruno's coal company to deliver boxcars of coal on a regular basis in NE Minneapolis back in the 50's.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

Had no color TV when I was young, not even a B&W TV. Got no TV now. Had a TV for a while, and got the satellite dish when they first came out. Only $20 a month when the satellite was new. About 5 or 6 years later, it was $100 a month. I had 250 channels to choose from. It got where I was coming home at 7:00 AM from the grave yard shift, turning on the TV and there wasn't anything on any of the 250 channels that I wanted to watch. I called them up and told them to turn it off. They tried to argue about it, but I won that argument. That was about 35 years ago. Have not had a TV since. Sometimes I go in the waiting room of the doctor office and they got the stupid game shows on the TV. It reminds me why I had mine disconnected.
I read books when I was young. I read books now. I get the news and weather from the computer, but do not stream movies or have any of the other entertainment stuff. What passes for entertainment now, I am not, nor ever have been bored enough to watch.
I am from the no tv generation. For a period of time not even a radio. (no electricity). My favorite activity was reading and still is.I didn't start riding until I was 42.
As far as a slide rule is concerned, mine is somewhere around but I ain't going looking for it.

How did the world survive? The Empire State Building, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Boeing 707, Apollo spaceship, and on & on all built with the 3 digit accuracy of a slide rule! Now kids think if you don't have at least a 10 digit result it ain't no good!
