Default Looking for a VSS module 219800097

    Hey Riders,

I have a 2010 RT that is fun to ride but not so fun to repair sometimes. It's now showing that the VSS module part number 219800097 needs to be replaced, looks like it's the same part through 2012.
anybody out there know of someone parting out an RT or a good salvage yard that handles Spyders?

Unless you are ABSOLUTELY SURE ( by testing it with a device, not a Spyder code ) ./... I would take key from ignition dis-connect BOTH leads to the Battery and touch them together .... wait about 5-10 minutes and then reconnect ( using Star washers on terminals ) ..... this will allow a complete RE_BOOT of the computers ..... then start it & see if the CODE dis-appears .....good luck ....Mike

Edit:Just ignore my response. I totally mis-read the OP's message.

Your better bet, since you have a 2010, is find someone with BUDS and the Megatech license and just get DSS turned off. Then you never have to be worried about being stranded with a bike that won't start.

I can't help you with a used component. But if you find that you, in fact, need one. I can probably save you some on a new one. Let me know if I can help. Hopefully, you find that you don't need a new unit. I would be very sure before you pull the trigger on another one. You can't return electrical components.
