Default 7x14 V nose Enclosed Trailer - will an RTL & F3L fit?

Wanting to haul an RTL and F3L and was wondering if anyone else is currently doing this with a 7x14 V nose Enclosed Trailer?. If so, are you having any issues with room. I understand a 7 x 16 or 7 x 18 would be better but wanting to know if anyone is doing it with a 7 x 14.

    Thanks

Put those Spyders together " tail to tail " and put some 2x4's in a 7' x 14' box around them - if you can then it will fit ..... but it might be very difficult when you moving the Spyders into that trailer .... Good luck ....Mike

I have not done it yet. But I do have a 7X14 V Nose and thinking about picking up an F3 I think if I pulled the RTL up in the V a bit I could back the other in at a slight angle and it would work. With my V I get an extra 3 ft Approx. It might take some off centering the rears a bit but I think it would work.
    To be continued....

that is what I was thinking, I remember reading a comment from someone saying they have a toy hauler with a 7 x 12.5 garage and they are hauling an RT with and F3l with no problems, so I was thinking if that is case, then why wouldn't a 7 x 14 work!
I will be interested to know how it works for you.

You could pull in and reposition the rear ends with this dolly as an option.

It's going to be a challenge. The issue is going to be the 7' width. Both the RTL and F3L are nearly 9.5 feet long, so a total length of 19 feet. The rear ends will need to sit side by side in the the trailer. The saddle bag width of the each machine is approximately 3'. Your going to have slide the back of each machine against the wall of the trailer to get them side by side. They'll be angled, so they actually be wider than 3'. Your going to have approximately 80" of width in the inside of your trailer, wall to wall, depending on the trailer. Taking into account that your going to want safe clearance between the 2 machines and the walls, the fit will be scary tight. I would think possibly too tight.

Thanks .. this did help, in fact makes me feel somewhat hopeful that this will work .. the only real way to know for sure is to take both bikes to a trailer center and test them out, which i plan to do over the next two weeks.

Getting them in will be a challenge but then you need to tie them down. I don't know why you are selecting a 14' but I would strongly recommend at least a 16' v-nose. Having pulled tandem axle 7x14 and 7x16 v-nose and an 8x20, the 7 wides catch less wind and the 14 vs 16 weigh nearly the same and pull the same.

I have a 16 with 5’ V and is 8’ wide vs 7. I can put 2 spyder in with lots of space. It’s a snowmobile trailer. Here is what I do. Pull first one in and put a piece of clear plastic and a small rug on top of the plastic. With the rear tire on the rug grab the plastic and It slides on the floor. No effort at all. Next back in second one. If I was doing 7’ wide i’d back both in. Back rear as far forward in the v as possible and keep front to the left wall. Now back in second and keep rear wheel to the right. Your inside should be 18x18’6” so no problem. Look at pictures of how to stagger sleds in trailers. One forward one reverse and so forth. You can fit “3” 137 sleds in your trailer. Done it many times. You can fit 2 spyder but tight. Get 4 2x4’s, lay them on floor outlining the walls and practice with the layout on the floor and figure out best option. I have pvc flooring but you could use a piece of bed liner to slide around the rear tire. No need for dollies.

Hooking them down so they don't shift around would be first on my mind! I have trailered a lot of stuff and I know how things move around, especially some thing with a suspensions under it. One good unseen bump in the road, and things fly, then you have broken stuff when you drop the door open!! I would go with a trailer that I could drive them in straight and chock them down, don't try to save space and get them crammed in there. Good luck, be safe!!

I have a 7x14 enclosed and I cant imagine getting both machines in. Even if they fit, they would be a nightmare to tie down properly, as mentioned above.
I would recommend buying plenty of touch up paint if you attempt this, good luck!

Well I use the strap over the tire method ( in-line ) and I drove over a traffic island with my truck and the Spyder didn't move ...... I don't recommend doing this ...... Mike

To start you have to back them in , i did it one time they just fit. No room to tie them down. If you are lucky all you have is one inch to spare.

You all bring up some great points to ponder. Sounds like I would be better to at least get the 7 x 16 .. found some locally this morning and am about to ride out on the bikes to check them out ... will let everyone know which one I end up buying.

A 7x16 with V is 21 feet. You’ll have no problem. Back in first and pull in second. Simply put a board across between the 2 with wheel extensions. Tie downs connect to same board. Tie downs split both ways off same board. If fronts are anchored both ways you’re
fine. Look at this site. https://www.boltiton.com/ wheel extension both ways nothing is moving. Or put etrack on floor and strap down. My way allows more versatile though

ok .. we tried the 7 x 14 and drove the RTL nose into the V (30") to within 1" or 2" from walls, measured room from ramp to rear of RT and there was 7' of room so needed an additional 2' to park F3L behind the RT. Measured the width of the rear of the RT (36" or 37") so figured same for F3 which would mean too much of the F3 rear-end (about 27") would need to go beside the RT for me to be comfortable with it (only coz i strongly believe in Murphey's Law!) so made the decision that I would get the 7 x 16. Unfortunately the couple that walked into Croft trailers behind us purchased the 7x16 they had there 30 minutes before we arrived and they showed up to pick it up! (Remember what I said about Murphey's Law?) so we ordered a 7 x 16 which is due to be delivered May 19, 21. this is one we got SC716TA2DRD --- 7' X 16' Enclosed Tandem Trailer with Ramp Door - Bravo

Allow me once again say thanks for your comments & help with this

You will be really glad you went with the extra 2 feet. I have a 7x14 enclosed from haulmark and went out and looked at it loaded with RTL thoughgt to myself,no not putting another Spyder in here.

That’s fantastic if they are making and shipping it to your dealer in 6 weeks. Every trailer company in the north from new hapshire, New York, Michigan and Indiana are on 3 month waiting periods. Now that’s all aluminum but even camper manufacturers are 3-4 month waits right now. Now it’s time to deck it out. Here’s mine. https://www.dootalk.com/forums/topic...-many-options/ 16 +v can go anywhere!
