2016-2021 Spyder RT Limited
Looking to buy our first Spyder from private party. Just can't swallow taxes and fees from dealer. Would like low mileage, excellent condition, Spyder RT limited for touring with the wife. Can be 2016-2021. Have cash for the best deal I can find. Willing to travel to obtain primo unit without issues. Maybe some one out there just bought a new one they don't like.
Send me a private message.

Keep in mind there were some changes in 2018 and a complete revamp in 2020. Pre 2018 had the "old style" analog dash. (Not necessarily a bad thing.) The 2018 got the new all digital dash that came with BuRP Connect. BuRP Connect allowed a few select apps to be displayed on the dash. Most find it doesn't work well. The body was completely new for 2020. Same dash as the 2018/2019. Same motor/tranny from 2014-current.
You can find some good deals on old RTs. Probably won't get a good deal on any 2020+ RTs (base or Limited).

And the 2019 had nicer chrome wheels vs the earlier many spoke wheels. And had the elusive hill hold feature.

Monk,
All good points.
We are now leaning heavily toward 2016-2019, mainly because of the seating arrangement. I am 5'8" and the older seats are much more comfortable for me. The 20-21 has a longer driver position which is good news for taller riders, but puts me further from the handle bars and brake pedal and doesn't feel comfortable to me. The wife says the 2020-21 passenger backrest is more "straight up" and is less comfortable then the older ones, which have slightly more angle towards the back. And she is 50% of the vote.
Maybe a tall rider out there is ready to trade in for new one with longer seat.

Are you a newlywed? Don't kid yourself, bro. Trust me. She's much more than "50% of the vote". Happy wife, happy life or some crap like that.

The only chrome I think looks good is on a black bike/cage/truck. My 2018 was Petrol Blue/Chrome. Loved the blue, hated the chrome. If I had to be honest, I'd say that was a wee bit of the reason I traded it off on the current '21 Petrol Blue (or whatever they're calling it)/Dark.
If my '18 had that hill hold feature, it didn't work. Same with my '21. I tried it not long ago (after everyone talked about it in that thread). Rolled back and almost hit the car behind me. Much more than an 8% grade. Almost felt like I was in the Space Shuttle getting ready for launch.

Our 18's did not/don't have the hill hold feature. It was advertised as an 2019 addition.

I'm not sure how you're going to avoid the taxes. If Az is like other states, when you register the spyder, you'll pay the taxes to get your tag. You can eliminate the other dealer fees by going private though. Good luck.

I see no obvious benefit to the hill hold feature; a foot brake and hand throttle is all one needs, unless one is a millennial who's afraid of anything that has less than four wheels and makes noise.
Artillery lends dignity to what would
otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

If you buy from a private party there is no sales tax in AZ. If you buy from a dealer the sales tax is 5.6%

is that true if you buy used privately out of state? I believe the fees you end up paying to register it in AZ are fairly significant, based on value at the time or some such thing.

It used to be that way in Ga a while back. Now no matter if it's from a dealer, out of state or individual you have to pay tax. In state dealers collect it from you and everything else you pay when you get your tag.

I do love you guy's and thank you for all the input. No disrespect intended - but what happened to my thread?
On a side note I checked and rjinaz86323 is correct. In Arizona-out of state private sale : no tax
out of state dealer sale : yes

I bought a 2018 RTL with a Washington title and licensed it here in Arizona. No sales tax. New Arizona title and plate for first year. $382.89
